Chapter 89: Chapter 86: Done with the trade? Time to pay taxes then!

Under David’s command,
the group quickly arrived at the armory.
There, rows of handguns, rifles, submachine guns, and an assortment of other equipment were neatly lined up on shelves.
A closer look revealed a selection of firearms, including the M16, M4A1, SCAR, HK416, and more.
In addition, there was standard equipment for the SEAL Teams.
Such as the FAT Tactical Helmet, Comtac-I noise-canceling headset, Gatorz Tactical Goggles, Belleville 550ST Combat Boots, LBT-6094 lightweight tactical vest, GPNVG-18 panoramic night vision goggles, among others.
Beyond that, one could also find a plethora of specialized weapons and gear used by other branches of the American military, including special forces.
Of course, this was just the tip of the iceberg for the Chief Tax Officer’s array of weaponry.
At the Nevada State Bureau’s base within the tax authority, there were even the most elite American military aircraft like the F35 and F16 fighters.
There were also Apache Armed Helicopters, Black Hawk Helicopters, M1A2 main battle tanks, M-1117 armored vehicles, and other heavy weapons.
It could basically be said,
except for aircraft carriers which the tax authority didn’t have ready at hand, if the American military had any weapon or equipment, the tax authority had it too.
And even the weapons and equipment the American military didn’t have, the tax authority had them!
Thus, a rumor has always persisted in America.
That the weaponry of the tax authority is even more advanced than that of the American military, and this saying is not an exaggeration at all.
This operation would be enough with Buckynison as the main force.
Hence, David didn’t take too much equipment, just put on a bulletproof vest and took an M4A1 rifle, and that was enough.
But Nisen and Bucky didn’t care about that much.
In their eyes, drug traffickers were heinously vile.
To play it safe, they equipped everything from tactical gloves, night vision devices, stun grenades, to hand grenades, truly armed to the teeth!
Seeing that everything was about ready, David asked, “Are we good to go?”
“OK now!”
Some nodded, others gestured.
“Then let’s move out!”

Pompeii Chemical Plant was established in 2013, but after environmental agencies detected significant pollution in the area, it was forced to close, laying dormant ever since.
Because of the pollution, residents in the surrounding area had also evacuated in droves, leaving few human traces within a two- to three-kilometer radius of the place.
This was precisely why Dieter and the Mexico Gang chose this place for their transaction.
When the group arrived, it was already 40 minutes later.
David glanced at his watch, it was 11:10 PM.
There was still about an hour before the transaction between the two parties.
“Hide the cars!”
After giving the order, David approached the entrance of the chemical plant.
With the aid of the moonlight and the car headlights, one could see that due to years of neglect, the outer walls of the plant had started to rust, with the color of the rust forming a stark contrast to the surrounding greenery.
In the cracks of the walls, weeds stubbornly poked through, reaching toward the direction of the sunrise, with some parts of the wall even having collapsed, revealing some of the mechanical equipment left inside.
Through the rusty gates, the inside of the plant looked even more dilapidated.
The once clean and orderly production line was now covered with dust, and the machinery was draped in cobwebs.
Abandoned barrels of raw materials were carelessly placed in corners, with the chemicals having leaked out and mixed with the soil, forming colorful stains.
“Damn, there isn’t poison here, is there?”
Nisen came over, covering his nose and mouth, continuously examining the interior of the plant.
“It’s been abandoned for so many years, any toxic substances should be mostly diluted by now, and besides, we won’t be staying long enough for it to do any serious harm to our bodies!”
Hearing David’s words, Nisen felt somewhat reassured.
After hiding the cars, everyone proceeded to enter.
Just like the photos Bucky had taken, the chemical plant was structured with two floors, with four flat rooms to the southeast, northwest, providing hiding spots for the group.
When the time was right, with the advantage of holding the high ground, they could instantly take control of both parties.
“Get into position!”
Following David’s order, Buckynison and the other seven scattered, each heading to one of the four cardinal directions on the second floor.
Upon reaching the second floor, they assembled their brought searchlights, fitted batteries, and then concealed themselves at their positions.
After everyone had finished preparations, David took out his cellphone and made two calls.
The calls were to two Chief Tax Officers back at the bureau.
For safety’s sake, he felt it was better to have a backup plan.
After all, while the money was the tax authority’s, the lives at stake were their own.
They couldn’t risk their lives just for the sake of their performance on the job.
Intelligence might say that neither party was bringing many people, but who could predict if there would be unforeseen complications.
If something unexpected did happen, this backup could quickly come to their aid, potentially saving them from disaster!
As the crescent moon set, the time soon reached midnight.
Then Simmons, who was on lookout, seemed to notice something and called out to everyone, “They’re here!”
Upon hearing this, everyone got serious, summoning their utmost alertness, also checking their gear and disengaging the safety on their weapons.
After about seven or eight minutes,
a sound of tires rolling over the ground came from outside the plant, followed by a beam of light shining through, and shortly after, David and others hiding on the second floor saw a van enter the middle of the factory.
The van doors opened, and four men jumped out.
